Yes there is one being planned. More details to come....

Yeah, that first night was a killer.

That was a light night!
Agreed. Compared to Wednesday night...dang...

Wednesday night was pretty small. Only you made it a big night

So you're saying I was the life of the party?

Since the HP event sucked big ass donkey balls, I bailed on that and had dinner with another attendee who felt the same. We stopped by Iron Works BBQ.
I really wanted to go to the Scale party, but I was planning to meet up with a friend that lives in Austin, which I did.

The HP party was horrible we all left early as well. We split up and did dinner and then met up later at the Handle Bar. Lots of fun for all. Much better then HP's lame party. What the heck were they thinking?

The Scale Cruise was awesome. Really sucks that so many people decided to try the HP thing. The Scale party was the first I have ever attended that I felt was well done at Spiceworld. Normally all of the events are so loud and focused on being a "show" rather than having people talk to each other (kind of the point of a social gathering like that.) But the Scale thing was one of the best opportunities to just sit down with folks and spend some time together in a nice setting and really get to talk to one another. It was really well done.

I would have been there if I had not already planned on meeting my friend.

@Dominica could not make it because she can't do boats due to motion sickness. She was pretty unhappy when she learned that the boat got to see the famous bats of the Congress Street Bridge and the HP party was so awful.

Agreed. I made a post on SW that said the same thing. The 80s party was all about the "nightclub effect". That's worthless to the Spiceheads and the vendors. No one could talk to anyone else unless they were outside or left the party. You couldn't hear the person screaming two feet from you. If you wanted to drink and dance, sure, go to the party. But for the 95% of us who would rather get a chance to talk, it's not worth anything.

The boat ride was amazing! I didn't like all the cigar smoke, but the open air upstairs made it bearable.

I wonder how upset HP is that they got their name tied to that lame party? With about 100 of the most "in the know" Spiceheads being on the cruise and the only reputation from the HP party being that it was the "lame HP party" I think that the marketing money backfired. It turned out to be a big negative for them. It would have been bad on its own but having the awesome cruise as a counterpoint happening at the exact same time so 100 people got an awesome time and 720 went to a party so lame that no one stayed and everyone was mocking it later made it extra bad.

I heard from the introvert crowd that it was a lot of fun - because you didn't have to talk to anyone and could just enjoy a concert, which makes sense. But for the rest of us, those that actually are there to talk to each other and to the vendors, it was completely nonsensical. Several of us walked it and walked right back out again and went elsewhere so that we could do what we were in Austin for. Those parties really go against the spirit and point of the whole thing. Which is fine, the bulk of the people at the event are newbies, know no one and just want to escape. But everyone else needs to realize that we need our own events so that we can hang out and not go to the "don't talk to people" stuff.

The Monday night party was not too bad except that it was outside in Texas in September. The food was good, the drinks were good and it was quiet and people could talk to one another and move around easily. That was good. It was just so ridiculously warm that it wasn't much fun.
