On a call. Realizing how much I detest OneDrive. Totally useless.
I've had good luck with it so far. What are your pain points?
No way to download or open files. It forces the opening of the file to Word Online, which doesn't work, and doesn't let me download to open it with an application that actually works.
Huh. I just use Word Online so I guess I don't have that use case.
-
what do you mean you can't download from OneDrive?

Uh oh...
My condolences to your data, lol.
It was just a hardware functionality test in a lab environment. No data was lost

I think you need to do a screen recording of this stuff someday. These sound like the weirdest issues.

What's interesting is that there are three places to download Onedrive documents.

This could be based on the security settings set by their O365 administrator, if it is under a business account.

Coliver needs to add Word locally installed opening OneDrive directly as well.

That's fair. But then the security policies are useless not so much the app itself.

That's true you could do that. I'm not sure @scottalanmiller is on a Windows device though which may be some of the trepidation here.
I generally only use Onedrive from the browser as I really dislike local sync programs.

Well, if the point is to become LANless, then sync clients are a no go.

It doesn't display properly. It doesn't handle all file formats flawlessly.

what do you mean you can't download from OneDrive?
It only gives you a broken HTML to download, no download mechanism.

Email an attachment from OneDrive to Exchange. There is no download, none. Only an "open" button, and that only goes to Word Online.

None of those exist when something is emailed from OneDrive. remember I don't have a OneDrive account because Microsoft themselves hosed it.

If I could download, I'd be all set. It just doesn't offer any download options.

I'll have to test it. Normally there is a little arrow next to the document that lets you download something.

You aren't in OWA, you are in OneDrive. This is a file FROM OneDrive.

Unless it is from OneDrive, then it disables it.

And if you open in Word Online, no options to save from there, either.
