It's been a long time since I've built a video editing rig. But for those, I'll usually use an AMD Radeon card for the video editing, or an NVIDIA card for gaming.
That's what I remember.. I'll have to check cost.. I am already over budget.. So trying to cut it a little, so can't afford anything anymore expensive.

I was poking at the cheepnis. A video editing rig is no place to cheap out on displays.

So far from what I am seeing, it might be cheaper, if I can find it.

So far going ok in the build... So I thought.. I had him install the radiator (h115i). But the fans from the radiator interfere with the CPU power connector on the MB (Thanks Asus for putting it so high/on the edge of the board). I was wondering if their are any slim fans I can get to replace the stock fans? Also is it possible to temp run the rad with only 1 fan?
I kept the same build as above, but changed the GFX to an Asus 1070 one (for the lighting effects
)Any other suggestions.. Right now build it is at a stand still.. I cant put the rad in the front as its 280mm.. Front only supports 240mm

You should be fine. The system will just run the single fan faster (more noise).

Thanks Travis.. I was thinking of just picking up the H100i v2 from Best Buy this morning. But then according to Corsair website, the 100iv2 is thicker, so I don't think it will work on top, but I could install the H100iv2 radiator on the bottom of the case I think. I just gotta figure out air flow.. I don't build PC much anymore, so not good at this stuff.. and when i did, they was all cheap ones.
Should I install the fans fans on the bottom or top of the rad? Right now its on the bottom of the rad, which the rad screwed into the top of the case..

@smartkid808 With fans on only a single side of the radiator, I'd want the airflow being pushed through the radiator. You can actually go with fans on both sides of the radiator if you have the mounting space for everything, which we know you don't in this case. Bottom or top only really matters depending on the airflow through the rest of the case. If you want to bring outside air in through the radiator, then on top. If you're pulling air in from within the case, then on bottom, and is the typical airflow setup where air comes in through the front of the case and exhausted out the top/rear.
I miss the combined radiator and water reservoir from years ago. It sat outside the pc case because it was so big, but because it was so big you also didn't need any fans on it. I saw a couple systems built with it that water cooled the GPU and CPU with the thing.

@travisdh1 thanks Travis. Im going to replace it with the 100i v2. Just picked it up from best buy. I rather haver the smaller unit with 2 fans. Tnx info on fan setup.

Why aren't you getting a video card that's built for video editing, like a high-end NVidia Quadro. That's what they are built for.

What software for editing? Your hardware choices are dictated by the software.

You only need 1 high res and colour accurate screen. Sure if you have money to spend on 2-4 matching screens go for it, but if on a budget, you really only need 1.

This is madness if the end user has Premier Pro for software. Nvidia cards with CUDA acceleration are a beast. You'd never look at Radeon with Premier Pro.

I've been out of touch with who does what better these days. Video cards now are orders of magnitude more powerful than the last time I built a video editing rig. I'd definitely have to brush up on my research if I were building a modern one.
