Trying to figure out how to operate a CNC engraver/router.
With software to tell it where to go
Working on that... not the easiest thing. I've tried using the recommended UGS and FEngrave but I can't get the g-code to be properly formatted. I'm looking at Inventables' Easel software. I think that may work a bit better but I haven't had a chance to test it out yet. The downside is I don't have any internet at the location the engraver is so it's hard to actually troubleshoot it.

Watching BladeRunner.
Classic. One of my all time favourite movies.
OK, So I've finally seen (and remember) the scene where Harrison Ford has reflected light in his eyes. I'm like meh - not enough to go down that rabbit hole.
-
Crazy night and morning in the news, thankful to be alive and working now.

Urgh. Was at a conference Wed to Friday of last week, and don't feel like I got any rest this weekend. Back to the grind again this week.

God not any any G-Code stuff for ages.....
What CNC/Engraver have you got?
Are you converting CAD drawings or designing through the software? -

We're just starting out and wanted something "easy". I'm using FEngrave to do the design and UGS to push it. I've gotten it to do some dry runs... but haven't been able to actually cut anything yet.

Nuked the whole thing.

We got display models from Costco. Under no conditions could anything on the drives be kept. The system was modified and had ot be treated as any malware breach. Someone we could not trust had root access, so the recovery partitions were completely something that had to be nuked. We could not trust anything that existed on the system.
-
Eating lunch here,... and working on nuking my Facebook page. Tired of all the political, racial and religious crap being spewed all over the place.
That - and no one ever talked to me any way.... (maybe only 3 people ever really)

Understandable -

Just got to the office. No one is here. Not much of anyone, anyway. @QuixoticJeremy is hard at work and has headphones on, so it is like he isn't here. The boss is on the phone and has paperwork to do all morning and is avoiding us to stay out of our way so that we can get work done. Everyone else is out running errands. So.... super quiet.
-
And for fun.... we have the lights off so that we get less eye strain. So it is mostly dark here, as well.

You don't have to keep the Dell OS Recovery partition in order to re-install Windows 10 unless you care about the drivers and software that is included with that partition.

Yes,.. since the Windows Key is embedded in the board - you can install and download the drivers whenever you feel the need to do so.

My friends list and feed are pared down to the point where I really only see science stuff and recipes. And the occasional funny picture. I've always had a strict "no politics/news/religion/etc" rule.
