Copying Content from other sources

And there we have it folks.
ML can no longer have any references (copied content, web links to/from, etc.) to this other "IT Community". Is that legal? No. But it's a rule here, so if we want to be able to use ML, we have to follow it.
That's not asking too much IMHO. The collective IQ of ML will simply jump.

Remember, if we need to refer to "them", we should use the term "Big Orange". Not to be confused with the president, who will now be referred to as "Big Orange Idiot". I hope this clarifies things for everyone.

No, it's not asking much at all... I just feel bad for the people who will lose out and be maliciously pushed off of technical cliffs.
It's bad for IT folk in general.
Owell.

Might as well....

As we all know every decision they make makes them less and less relevant. Eventually they will die off and fighting over raid levels will hopefully be a thing of the past

Or the only thing to cling onto . .

Pretty sure the abundance of sycophants on the internet at large (and on the site that shall not be named) will keep them around just enough to be a ridiculous annoyance.

So does this mean ML is no longer "Down with OPP"
Other Peoples Posts?
-
Oh my, never thought it would be me who has to say something like that...
Let's stay professional. We got our community, they got their. We'll see who lasts longer.

You should try BurgerFi

Out of curiosity, how can "copying content" be considered worthy of this request, if said content is publicly available to everyone in the US and the world as a whole?
Any lawyers around?

Quoted from: https://www.copyright.gov/fair-use/more-info.html
Fair use is a legal doctrine that promotes freedom of expression by permitting the unlicensed use of copyright-protected works in certain circumstances. Section 107 of the Copyright Act provides the statutory framework for determining whether something is a fair use and identifies certain types of uses—such as criticism, comment, news reporting, teaching, scholarship, and research—as examples of activities that may qualify as fair use.
-
It would be my belief that the fair use doctrine could be pushed in this case. However, I am not a lawyer.

Which means, if we link to said insanity for our "I can't even" topic it's fair use since we are criticizing it. Which is protected under fair use!

Golly, that sure sounds like the way we were "using" content from [the site that shall not be named]. I'd go so far as to say I believe everything on ML qualifies as "fair use" under that definition.
