The gene pool has been known to be self chlorinating.
-
If I were @g-jacobse, I would build a swimming pool and put up signs calling it the Gene Pool.
-
Then if people pissed him off he could forcibly remove them from the Gene Pool.

Time Warner Slapped with $230,000 Fine for RoboCalls
This is a good one. TW wouldn't stop calling the wrong person with an auto-dialer, which constitutes harassment. This is a good case for why robocallers are just way too dangerous to be using.

Sometimes it feels nice to know that stupidity is common no matter where you may live. I won't bother translating as it should be pretty obvious what this is about.

I'm just waiting for a bill collector to try and sue me of an unpaid bill... My voicemail informs them to send a text message to the number they called. If their robot doesn't leave a message, it ain't my fault.

Use a PBX at home. No bill collector will even bother trying to reach you. No sales people. It's pretty handy.

I had considered setting one up... However, I need the Voicemail to Text offered by Google Voice... I may try it if you know of a voice to text plugin for any of them...

There is a voice to text plugin for Asterisk, or used to be. I have not used it and have not looked at it in a very long time so I cannot comment on it, but you might be able to use that natively.

Looks like that may actually work. I have a second GVoice number for my "consulting business" -- I may try to set that up and see if it works.

NYC to Remove Bail Requirements for Non-Violent Crimes
After much public outcry of poor, innocent detainees being beaten and sometimes committing suicide after being unable to raise bail for crimes they did not commit, NYC has actually done something good and is removing the bail requirement allowing people to remain free until they are actually convicted. NYC had gained a reputation in recent years for indefinitely incarcerating poor minorities, including minors, and allowing other prisoners and even guards to brutalize and torture them. A recent case of a child, found later to be innocent, committing suicide after being released from years of city sponsored torture led to an outcry against NYC's jail system.
Of course, "doing something good", here is simply the removal of something incredibly evil. There is a bit of a gap between doing something good and being caught doing something evil that you can't justify and getting pressured to stop doing it. But at least that much has been done. Sadly it was not until the city had no way to justify its actions and was caught that they made a change rather than self auditing and wanting to do the right thing. This will indefinitely be a mark against New York City, the state and the nation.
