What Do IT Pros Drive?
-
We just bought a 2014 Subaru Forester got a really good price on it. Gonna get yelled at... but we bought for the near future when kids are on the way.
-
I had to buy a car for the very first time in order to secure my current IT job... a 2004 Mazda 3. It just hit 200k miles a month or so ago, so we'll see what happens now!
I'm looking for a Subaru Forester myself for stuff like camping/road trips, but who knows when that will happen.
-
2003 Mazda 3 is a nice car.
-
Been lucky - otherwise I would not have a vehicle. But the current IT-mobile is a 2005 Honda Ridgeline with 178,000 miles on it. First set of tires (tyres) got 95,000 odd miles off them... I'm on my second set now,.. and will drive them off the truck as well.

Rich people does not cover me but..
2011 Chevy Cruze, 6MT 1.4T "eco" model. 5L/100km on the highway if I do my part.
Trying to dump it for a jeep but I can't get a decent price for either.
I miss having a manual.
Ditto... however not having to deal with the clutch is nice sometimes.

Mazda was never really on my radar for awesome, long-lasting car manufacturers but they sure are now!
I'm just hoping the previous owner ran it up and down the interstate for most of its miles as the car salesman said... It seems to be in pretty good condition despite the 200k miles, so there's a slight possibility that they were actually telling the truth.

I've had a Mazda continuously since 2001. They are great. My number one choice for Asian-made cars for sure. The only one that I would go out of my way to buy. I have a 1988 Mazda RX7 convertible that I took @dominica out on our first day the evening that I bought it. That car is old and garaged but was an incredible drive.
I bought a yellow 2002 PR5 that @dominica liked so much she bought a matching blue one the next weekend!!
Traded in the 2002 for a 2003 Mazda 6 that was so nicely equipment that @dominica, the car and I got onto the cover of Mazda's driver magazine with it That car was amazing. Drove like a dream.
Every Mazda of my own has been standard, Dominica's was automatic.
-
@scottalanmiller RX7's are really good fun, but there's only one rule they obey like clockwork:
Boost goes in, apex seals come out.
-
Yeah, the engine is a bit much to maintain. But what a car to drive.

My buddy in high school had an 80s model RX7. Did yours have the pull out choke?
-
No, that was a generation before mine.
-
We have 3 cars here.
@art_of_shred has a 2014 Dodge Caravan for hauling band stuff and a 2014 Malibu
I drive a 2014 Dodge Dart. -
I feel so suburban....'13 Jeep Grand Cherokee
-
-
This spring I spent driving an Opal Corsa. What a piece of junk.
-
Only thing that we can get here in Panama is Toyota Yaris.

Wow, you really are!
I have 3 kids, need the room. One is on his way to college right about the time the lease is up on the Jeep, and I fully intend to downsize the wheelbase, upsize the horsepower and add a 3rd pedal

My oldest son drives the Ponitac variant of that car, excellent machine. I drove it for a couple years till he turned 16.
EDIT: Nevermind, the Vibe is a Matrix, not a Yaris....

Yeah, this thing is junk.

GM would not rebrand a Yaris. They make much better cheap cars.
