Cable Technician
Experience: A total of at least 2 years of experience as a Unix Systems Administrator.
Required Certifications:

Position Description:
Cable Technician is a position that performs installation, modification, repair and maintenance of voice, video and data cabling systems. In addition to installation the Technician will install equipment and be involved in some facets of configuration and deployment.Position Requirements:
Required skills:
Physically install Category 5, Enhanced Category 5, Category 6, and fiber optic Cables
Installation of outlets, pulling cable, pre-termination including organizing, forming, dressing and labeling cables to defined standards
Terminate, assemble and install standard RJ-45 connectors
Accurately test copper and fiber (multimode and single mode) cables to required certification parameters utilizing appropriate test equipment as required
Diagnose and correct copper and optical fiber problems
Removal and demolition of abandoned cables -
