What Are You Doing Right Now

Ha ha. Hard to really pester me these days as I sit on my terrace sipping my wine looking at the sea.

Is that a challenge? Don't pose that challenge to me...you will NOT win...

Good morning, Joy.

Right now, trying to wrap my brain out this VBA code and relate it to the complexities of punching purlin holes for metal building structures...the machine punches 12 gauge "Z" Purlins off about 1/8 inch and we need to get it fixed...the original code writers left very little notes...SLOW learning process but so thankful for how the debugger shows variable info when you hover the mouse over it when stepping through...
-
Sounds like fun. I'm up on the terrace wrapping things up for the evening.

Try to figure out why a dell power connect 5448 switch keep putting messages Every few seconds about the fans changing operational state. Yet, the fans are working the whole time.

Contemplating building a copper pot still tonight. I have a lot of high test booze (mead) I want to refine into a fruity vodka-esque concoction.
-
That's awesome. I want my own still. I want to make gin at home like on MAS*H.

Counting down the clock (10minutes to go) and debating picking up a CloudatCost server (or 3) to host my personal Exchange, webserver, and DC
-
There are licensing issues with using Windows on there. Be sure to read the threads on those before going that route. The Windows licenses come from you, not from CloudatCost, so that creates some pretty significant complications.
-
If you want to do a Samba AD replacement and an Apache webserver, you are golden. If you want to do demo Windows licenses that you reinstall on a regular basis, you are fine. But we've not come up with a means of licensing Windows normal on a cloud because you can't control the hardware so you don't know the CPU count, the mobility of the VM, if VMs will be on the same hardware, etc.

Was actually looking into Linux replacements for everything today. A ) For the licensing issues and B ) for the fact that I can get away with smaller servers.

Wow. Over 500 US colleges put on a watch list for posdibly closing due to low funds/lack of enrollment.

Which is insane considering how every kid, everywhere goes to college now. College is the new high school (or middle school, based on the education level.) Seems like we must been like ten times as many colleges as we had when I went to college. My high school class only sent six people to college. That same school must send 80 kids every year to college now.

As someone who has focused on Linux Admin and Engineering work for the past decade, I'm all for this I like Windows a lot, but there is a soft spot in my heart for Linux.
Especially CentOS and OpenSuse.
