Anyone used AmBit POS? It looks awful, but someone is recommending it.
Could be ran on IPads, Other than that I haven't heard much - It's not very popular in the Midwest that I can tell.
No public pricing or info. VERY clear that the vendor doesn't think much of the product.
I didn't look on the website, but does it say you can request a demo?
also - a lot of POS vendors dont put there price in a public setting because then their competitors will be able to potentially steal their business by saying "their systems are X amount and can do x,y,andz . we can do ours for Y amount. and ours do A,B,C as well as X,Y,Z" so not actually unheard of.
Competitors already know the prices. It's common for shit companies to do this when they are afraid of people knowing how bad their product and prices are. It's a common way to announce your shit isn't worth looking at further.
I have a question for you then Scott - Where can I find the public pricing for the services provided from ntg?
I just looked on the webpage and cant find anything anywhere.. except a contact us. .
Should I save myself from talking with NTG for help with my business because there is no public pricing on services rendered?

That's why you demo both.... and once you get prices from Company A and Company B, you start the haggling process yourself.
which is what a lot of people do .
People whose time is of no value and don't view themselves as valuable. And I'd agree.
Or people who want to make the right decision for the investment in their business.

This is actually a BS reason to not list pricing publically - they don't list because it allows them to charge whatever they want to an individual customer.
It's completely possible... - however as I've seen it in the past 3.5 or so years, every customer is different based on their needs - which affects the price- POS systems are not Cookie Cutter - unless you're adding to a current chain, then it's pretty easy, but that's under the same customer. Not to mention the hardware you use, (based on what's offered) the size of the site , licensing, peripherals, subscriptions, Credit Card processing, menu changes, all differ from customer to customer.
I have no 2 customers exactly a like. So there is no "One size fits" all pricing in this industry.Sure, but you can list those pieces. As someone who makes this kind of software for other industries, there's no validity to that making prices not public. That's why pricing isn't simple.
Now I'm not saying there is truth to this, and I'm no sales person for my company - but I'm just saying I haven't seen a single POS vendor/Company that has pricing on their webpage - ever, unless they're a scam company giving you "free" stuff and charging you behind your back, or click bait to rope you into a demo then drop massive prices on you.

Square, for example.

Intuit has public pricing, too.

Finished upgrading one of my home computers to Windows 11.
How is it? Windows has started prompting me on my home computer to turn on TPM 2.0 or upgrade my mobo. I saw a few videos on it months ago, wondering if it's a "I'll wait until they get the bugs out" or a "oh I need this now" kinda situation.
Not to bad so far.

My primary desktop runs Fedora but have an extra laptop to upgrade to 11. You don’t have upgrade if you don’t want to.

Found out that Square POS gives you more options if you sign up in the US vs somewhere else. If we lie about our country, more functionality appears!

So, would you then pay US tax over local tax (if any)? And (you likely have already looked) go against some (insert) international law?

You don't pay US taxes just because you sign up for a service using a US address. Tax doesn't take that into account.

@jaredbusch would you have like to have been selected?
I was requested to attend for jury service once when younger. Turned up with long hair and a Jimmi Hendrix shoulder bag. Didn't get selected, wonder why?
About 4 years ago I was called to jury duty, complete with long hair and a very long goatee. I got picked because the case involved theft by computer. When they asked what I did for work I saw both attorneys making check marks. I was chosen, so was another guy who was a developer.
haha, IT nerds. I've been requested a few times since then, but I always knock it back. Being self employed allows me to get out of it.
I live 65kms from the nearest court house and they can only request you up to 60 kms.

Sounds like it's time for the $10 bill to start passing back and forth again.

Betting on the Jackets has never been a good idea. But their radio station is amazing.
