@DustinB3403 This has to be a major goof up from MongoDB. I bet they redo their license so it is accepted by Red Hat. I can't believe they will keep things as is.
It doesn’t stop users from using MongoDB repo or will that change too?
-
@black3dynamite Not directly i don't think but if Red Hat will not use it then then effectively it is causing less people to use it.

It will en d up in RPMFusion. That is pretty much the purpose of the repo.

That's already what everyone uses.

I doubt that they will change.

I wonder if MS will increase to follow suit.

Zoho already did several months ago.

95+% of our licenses are Business Premium, which is already more than the gsuite offering. But, as it says, you get more with Office 365. If that is of any value, you will have to decide.
-
Personally we've found our Zimbra + NextCloud + Rocket system to be so much cheaper, and to work so much better, than Office 365 ever did. And GSuite has always been just horrible when we've tried it.

It makes me wonder if Microsoft and Google will use heavy increases eventually that will push companies to use colo and solutions like you have suggested Scott.

If they did, they would have to drop them down again. Their ability to scale is much greater than most companies'.

But also their need to scale is much bigger.

True, but they do make silly moves sometimes. I cannot see why people would stay with G Suite when 365 has better online editors. I don't think Google have changed or added more features to sheets and docs since they launched it, doesn't seem like they had when I last used them anyway.

I agree, the whole things feels like the tried it, thought it was "good enough" to show, then gave up and forgot. Just like all other Google products.
-
@scottalanmiller - They definitely do that. I can think of several off the top of my head.

I can't... because I immediately forget every product that Google talks about because I know that they won't be around long enough for me to care.
-
This is funny... the top ten of Google products that were killed off and forgotten. But it is the top ten.. from TWELVE years ago! HAHA. A new top ten would likely not include any of these.

@scottalanmiller True, but taking advantage their size (scale) is where the value comes in. But, value is subjective. If you can run your own Zimbra, Nextcloud and rocketchat servers in-house (co-lo or on-prem) for less, then there is more value for you to do it that way.
