Its hard to test "what would happen if" if you don't have a lab. It doesn't have to be an exact replica, but if you have some "application" servers (plex/kodi, freepbx, nextcloud, or whatnot), and you make a simple change in networking or in infrastructure, then you should be able to see what happens and how that affects your environment. How to setup backups. What happens if I VLAN this off? What would happen if I put that in my DMZ? Etc.
yeah we should have tested all of our network applications before we moved to win 10 but we did not. The management decided to move us there and new computers for around 400 staff so we have had some hiccups. Applications and other things have reacted differently than expected. Then one of management left and I am now picking up some of that workload. Its been enlightening.
Ouch. That's just bad management, lol.
Oh! Btw, we bought this. See if you can get it work by next Thursday.

Just got into the office today, Son decided to do a back flip last night while I was taking the garbage cans to the curb. Broke his Wrist (Radius Fracture) spent 3 hours in the ER and 3.5 at the Othro doc's to get a cast put on.
OMG, that's awful. Glad that it isn't any worse, though.

So I have a Spectre 360 and it has the MicTray64.exe, associated process, and the logfile in C:\Users\Public\MicTray.log. The log file is zero bytes though and appears to be empty. I'm wondering if it isn't logging, or if the list of affected machines is longer than officially announced.
The driver is Conexant via whomever it's hardware ends up on.
Does that mean that other vendors might have this too? I mean, it might, that we know. But why has only HP been discovered thus far? Is it an HP version of the driver? Is it HP unique hardware?
In all honesty, I don't know. But I wouldn't be surprised if it ended up on a bunch of OEM branded equipment. I'm guessing that HP's just got found out 1st.

This should probably be in the "I can't even" thread as well.
Yep, some reporter used that secret hacking technique that is the F12 key and the Missouri governor want's the reporter prosecuted.
Today's body politic is an embarrassment to the human race. And I mean to include most all politics. Graft and corruption are accepted as if they're simply the cost of doing business. Poor people, correction, any people who aren't in the 'club' are to be looked down on while laughing about their struggles at gatherings. Especially those who expose issues no matter how frivolous.

Oh in other news, I started buying stuff for my on-the-way daughter!
ok not gonna lie, baby clothes are way adorable because they are so tiny!!!!
When my daughter was pregnant with my granddaughter, she took us into Babies 'r Us for a little shopping. She found a baby hat with ears. She worked the lower lip / pouty face like a pro doing the triple Lindy off the high dive.
New baby coming? Fun times ahead.
Yes. I dropped at least $150 that day. -

RE: HP iLO3 Local User Name Problem
This may not make you too happy about this but, under the cover of the server, there should be a diagram showing the jumper settings one of which will set the ILO to defaults and should show the login information as well. I sincerely advise removing power before you try this if all else fails.

I believe what you're looking for is policy based routing -- Watchguard speak.
Since you opened a ticket, bring that up. They'll know. -
RE: Non-IT News Thread
This could fly. Imagine the fake names that the politicians would have to create to unlock their access

Used HP server, no ILO Password, no default sticker. I found this.
IPMI stuff
I couldn't get ILO logged in no matter what I tried.
I was going to put XCP-ng on the server anyway. Installed XCP-ng, ssh'd in and tried this guy's tip.
Wallah! Reset the ILO password. Logged in.
